Abuela Irma
Maria Irma Fuentes came to Casa del Abuelo in January 2022. She is a very sweet woman, timid in nature. The details of her life come in spurts as she remembers a few things here and there. She remembers that she only completed first grade. She remembers her late husband, Jose Eduardo. She mostly talks about her only child, a son named Israel.
Abuela Irma has dementia but, with Angelica there to remind her, she can do most things for herself such as get dressed, bathe, and eat. She loves doing crafts when teams come and her favorite food is grilled chicken. She likes to talk quietly with anyone she feels comfortable with. And if she likes you, she'll call you doll face.
Adopt an Abuelo
Casa del Abuelo cares for more than 20 abuelos at a time. They operate entirely on donations to cover expenses for water, propane, gas, food, transportation, and medicine. For $50 a month you can help provide these essential items for an abuelo.
