Abuelo Carlos

Carlos Villezcas Núñez came to Casa del Abuelo in March 2021 when his family could no longer care for him. His body started to deteriorate slowly over the last few years, little by little losing more and more use of his limbs. His medical condition baffles doctors because to this day they cannot find a reason for his condition. Whatever the cause, the result is that he has zero control over his body. At age 64, he is confined to a wheelchair and can no longer do anything for himself.

Prior to falling ill, Carlos was a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a civil engineer. He spent the majority of his life living in Chihuahua, Mexico. He came to Ensenada with his family due to a promotion with his company. In his free time he loved to play baseball and golf.

Angelica shared with us that aside from Carlos’s physical condition he is also bipolar. He struggles with accepting his illness some days more than others. In May 2021, Angelica found him another care home that is better suited to care for his physical and mental health needs. He was moved to that facility in June.

Before he left, Carlos told us that since coming to Casa del Abuelo he has reconnected with God. He enjoys spending time in prayer, praying for his family, their health, and world peace. Please join us in praying for Carlos to settle into his new home and for his faith to continue to grow.
