Abuela Berta

Abuela Berta is no longer able to care for herself. Her children each take turns hosting and caring for her for a few months at a time. She came to Ensenada to be with her son, Alfredo in January 2023. Unfortunately, she quickly became too much for his family to handle on their own. He reached out to Angelica and asked if she could stay at Casa del Abuelo.

Even though her plans to be with her son got changed around, Berta said that being at Casa del Abuelo has been nice. She said it gives her the opportunity to rest. She is grateful for Angelica letting her stay and for the opportunity to meet the other abuelos. Berta will be heading to her son Miguel's house soon. He is hopeful that he can provide the care she needs in his home so that she can continue to live with family.

In conversation with Berta, she shared that she is very proud of her three children, Miguel, Alfredo and Delia. She said that she dedicated her life to raising them, being a good wife, and a homemaker. Her advice to newlyweds is to be good to your spouse and to take care of your children.
